She is very accepting of new things once she gets used to them making her a pleasure to work with and train. She has an excellent memory so when things are learnt she does not forget. Due to time commitments she has not been handled a lot but leads & ties up well. Both her parents have exceptionally quiet temperaments which Shakira is starting to exhibit as she matures. Her Dam, Misty has taught countless kids to ride, done trail rides, pony club, eventing, gymkhana’s etc and was outstanding at Mounted Games. Even now at 23 she is still being ridden and provides a very safe, reliable mount for anyone. Shakira has excellent potential as an endurance mount with her long legs and stunning movement. She would be best suited to someone with an understanding of Arabians and willing to put the time into developing a one on one relationship with her. She did injure herself as a yearling leaving a scar on her near side front cannon bone. She was not lame from the injury and the scar does not impact her ability to move freely at all. He is very quiet and easy to handle although can be a little cheeky! He leads and ties up well. Easy to catch (he catches you!) Great to rug, trim, float and would probably come inside and have dinner with you as well. Scally has been a great no fuss boy since birth. He has been easily handled by kids and is never phased by new things including tarps and water. (He was born in the drought!) We haven’t officially started breaking Scally in although the kids have had the saddle on him several times already.
